Re: Next adventure: English Electric Canberra

I think I've got the Aircraft Archive drawings collection sets gathering dust somewhere.

Re: Next adventure: English Electric Canberra

That's one of the better drawings out there and probably a decent base indeed. I once started a 3D model based on the Aviation News drawings (before I obtained the Aircraft Archive series) and had a proper "laugh" with them - they were horrifically bad (totally made-up asymmetric airfoil to start with). In the end I built it from my own airshow photos, but have not yet finished the model.

Have to start somewhere with all profiles but safer to go with your own material/photos, or someone elses if they are happy to share it.

I used to have the full set of these books,
yes real ones made from paper and some of the drawings were absolute crap, but others were little gems, can't remember who did the Canberra.

do I remember correctly the aviation news ones were by Ian Huntley

Re: Next adventure: English Electric Canberra

    nice one Ronnie,
after only a short half hour I found all that is needed to produce 99% accurate drawings for the small sum of £30, that is three manuals, starting with the station drawings for completely accurate measurements then using the other manuals and hundreds of high res close up photos and about 2 years (full time) or 6 to 8 years (part time) you will end up with the best you can hope for

failing that you will only get a good set of drawing that will please your own eyes, probably about 80% accurate.

    sorry Grubby
