Re: DETAIL DRAWING MIG 23 ML

You're not alone, our language means a lot to us also and the fact that you are writing in a language that we do not understand on an English language board is disrespectful. It can be construed as a kind of sneaky whisper. Think about it, you say "Serbian language and reply for my friend." How do we know that your reply was a personal message to your friend. We can't understand it.... There is after all a personal message service for just that kind of thing. Don't get your knickers in a twist just because you think Serb's have more of a right to be proud of their language than us English speakers on an English board. If you don't like it I'm sure there's plenty of Serbian boards where you can type serbian language messages all day long....

Re: DETAIL DRAWING MIG 23 ML

Now I feel responsible for all of this...

Like bogsituacije says, this was the second time that he was under some kind of attack or critics. If I remember correctly, the first time it happens when he post a profile of YuAF MiG-29 with text describing the pilot as serbian hero or smt like that. And there was a quick response...

Now, the problem is a simple thanks to me in our own language. I didn't see anyone complaining about posts in german or any other language, and yes, there were. I did not complain...

Yes, there are personal messages and I assure You that we would use it if there was something to say in private... but I really don't understand what kind of "sneaky whisper" is possible at all This is an internet forum, not a military nuclear research facility.

I really, really hope that this is the last time to discuss about it...

Re: DETAIL DRAWING MIG 23 ML

    Vuk,

It is not personal, but the post did draw attention for two reasons:
    1. Possible copyrighted material is posted. If you hang around here longer, you should be aware that we got into problems for that before. Google and lawyers actively search with special software for (possible) copyrighted material. Google closed us down before twice. Both cases for false positives (3D artwork looking like a photograph which Google thought was copyrighted). We want to prevent such incidents in the future, since any future fine for such incidents will mean the immediate close down of this server and both sites I run on it.
    2. A non English language is used. We have told people before that everyone should use English here. This to make sure we know what is written. The problem is that with languages noone of thne moderation team knows, we cannot know if it is a normal post or a flame. Nor can we tell (for sure) if the English part is really a translation of the foreign part.
I've had this discussion before. With people who knew that I do understand the language they used. But the rule is simple: Only English is allowed on the forums. I also don't accept my native language or other languages I do speak. I know there have been German posts in the past, but the users were punished for that, some even banned. Now did Vuk get banned? Did you get banned? Did the messages get removed? No, I only told you to keep future posts in English.

This really will be the last discussion about this. The moderation team will from now on simply remove any future post which is not in English, apart from quotes from source referenced to, and translated.

I will close this discussion with a lock.
