FSX A2A Simulations P-51 Civilian repaint

    Hello all,
I wanted to share a repaint that a buddy of mine and I did for A2A's beautiful P-51 Mustang (civilian model). It turned out real well and I'd like to share the photos with you. This is a personal aircraft. Just about everything on this plane is there for a reason and personal to me.

This first picture is a shot of "Fire Dancer" cold and dark. "Fire Dancer" has been my personal P-51 sense the days of CFS when I joined the 51st Warbirds squadron. The nose art has developed over time to what you see here. I just recently retired from our local volunteer fire department after 18+ years. Age & health issues have forced this move

Another shot a little closer to admire the detailed work of the plane panels, lines, rivets and screws. A lot of work went into the undercarriage here with many hours in the powder coating booth.

Let's put her up on jacks for an undercarriage check and to test the functionality of the hydraulic system. My online name is FlashOver for the same reason as the plane name. Flashover is one of a structural fire fighters most dangerous situations that they can experience and seemed fitting in the days of online dog fighting

Here she is airborne over Northern Ireland. The tail number and letter 'V' are assigned by our squadron.

My state flag of Oregon US is under the left horizontal stabilizer with the state Moto (Alis Volat Propiis) "She Flies With Her Own Wings"

If you were to catch me in the virtual skies some day in my P-51, and you get close enough, and you look inside the canopy you will see me in there with a huge smile on my face.

And 'last' but by no means 'least', a Salute to two very dear departed friends and squad mates. Wingover and Freefall, thank you for sharing your life with me.

As I stated earlier in this lengthy post (sorry about that) this plane is personal and for that reason it is not available to download.
I want to thank WBe_Tiger for his invaluable help in painting this, my first FSX repaint.

I also want to thank A2A Simulations for such an outstanding aircraft.

Thanks for looking and happy flying.

    Hello adlabs6,
Thanks much. I should have mentioned that the paint was done with Adobe CS2. It's a very powerful program to say the least. Model Converter X was also used on the paint. It makes looking the product over in detail much easier by letting you rotate the plane in compiled form.
