Again being really picky (and hope you don't mind and if you do mind then just ignore me) but there's a few details that stand out. Firstly the underside demarcation line on XZ453 doesn't curve as much behind the intake, the panels on the tail weren't sufficiently weathered to stand out on the early SHars. There's a Rolls Royce logo missing just in front of the nozzle plus the Yeovilton code on the tail. For both the 105 and Royal Navy you've got the wrong font, think there's one to download on this site somewhere I use for RAF and RN markings. The white on the winged fist should be much stronger. Add some staining and weathering to the underside and it'll all help make a nice profile of the finest aircraft to ever fly from the best NAS.
Anyway that's just my constructive criticism on the old SHars and hope it helps.![]()
Harriers...uppy downy things.
Thank you very much for your words INKWORM!, your criticisms serve to do a better job.
The colors can be seen as they are rare screenshots and no direct jpeg.
I left just does something more than two months drawing in my free time and my sources is only what I find on the internet. There may be errors because I do not have good quality photographs many times, but I'm trying to do my best every day.
Thanks again!
No worries, have a look at the Harrier page on FB there's plenty on the subject there and even a few old SHars, the one at FAAM Yeovilton is good for colour references but remember it's a FA2 fuselage that's been hacked back to FRS1 standard, quite a few photos of it are on stuff like Flickr at a nice high res. There's plenty of walk arounds of the FA2 which are a good starting point as long as you remember the tail is different, the fuselage was extended and they spoilt the nose with the Blue Vixen radar.Much of the FRS1 fuselage is actually very similar to the GR1/GR3 of which there are still plenty of photos.
http://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft...rier_all.shtml should get you started.
The first batch of FRS1 which went south just had the roundels and white painted over with the EDSG and due to the over all single colour it looks different to the original scheme where it was contrasted with the gloss white underside. However the 809 NAS which were sent later were painted in a much lighter variant of Barley Grey not unlike the FA2s.
