Mergin' a group of multiple layers when some are not visible

O.K., we all know that pattern/textures layers are really affect the weight of the file size to work with. So, my question is: when you work with some group that has A LOT of layers (including textures), but only like half of them are really "visible", when you merge such a group, will the invisible layers be just discarded? Or do you have to manyally delete all the layers that are "not visible" before merging such a group to keep the filesize as small as possible?

    Hi,

When you "Merge Visible" all the hidden layers remain intact and you have to manually delete them. No biggie, just select them all in one go and press the delete key on your keyboard. Same with paths.

Oh, and any layer effects need to be rasterised as they can cause problems and look weird.

    Thanks for the reply, Clint.
Actually, my question was about merging not just the layers but the group of layers, where only like half are visible...

Same thing happens. All the hidden layers are separated out from their respective folders.

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.
I think I'll do some more experiments...
