Re: RAF Thunderbolts Part 3
You're Thunderbolts are a nice series of profiles, but depending on what you are trying to get out of your work, I think its time to start looking a little harder shadow, light, form and individual details if you do want to go down that path it'll help bring your own personal style to your profiles.
The next step is the hardest, but it's by far the most rewarding.

Re: RAF Thunderbolts Part 3
In trying to heed some of GFR's advice, I've done revisions on two of the series. Additions, subtractions and re-arrangements - all with my usual seat-of-the-pants precision (!); but they are a bit more satisfactory.
Went to school using one of GFR's P-47s; tried to replicate some of his subtleties (without, of course, knowing exactly how he specifically achieved them).
But that's part of learning in the workshop- and as with music and literature, it's often not what you put in, but what you leave out.
I must resolve to tone down the lines on my original drawings - the heavy hand causes many revision problems. Got to take a break before tackling the remaining images...
Cheers, all
