    AS-202, G 120TP, T-34C TNI AU

    Hello, greetings from Indonesia.
My name Sinang Aribowo and I've been lurking to this forum since long time ago. And I've been a fan of some of you guys here

I am starting this hobby (drawing aircraft) since I was a kid. Not so serious hobby but some of my drawing have been published in one or two publications for free. They are so simple, I draw them using Corel Draw. Only lines and curves but no photo realistic rendering. Until 7 months ago in April my friend asked me to draw aircrafts of his squadron here in Yogyakarta. My first commissioned work. I decided to get more serious rendering for this. I choose Inkscape over popular programs like photoshop or gimp.
I introduced to Inkscspe by my friend Iwan RSetiawan in 2009. I learn inkscape since then but never manage to finished any single aircraft profile using that.
Satisfied with the result I decided to have a little dream about that, drawing more Indonesian Airforce aircrafts and get them published in a form of a book.
I'd like to hear from you guys here, critique or suggestions about my works. I believe that would make my works any better and gave me courage to finish them.

    Okay, about the works.
    My first finished aircraft profile:
AS-202/18A3 "Bravo" from 101 Basic Training Squadron, Adisutjipto AFB, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The basic shape studied from photographs because there are no basic drawing around even in the aircraft manual.
    The second one is:
Grob G 120TP also from 101 Basic Training Squadron, Adisutjipto AFB, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The basic shape is also studied from photos, but the white color of the aircraft is another challenge to represent in an illustration.
After the two above I decided to draw more Indonesian Air Force Aircraft:
T-34C Turbo Mentor from 102 Training Squadron Adisutjipto AFB, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
It's not a commissioned works but consume more time for the details and experimenting complex shadings.
Now I'm currently working on KT-1B of the Jupiter Aerobatic Team. I will post it soon in another thread.

Thank you for appreciating my works.
And for those who wants to have more information about inkscape you can go to www.inkscape.org
You can download and use Inkscape for free like Gimp.

Hey Sinang! You've got a good start going Does Inkscape support anti-aliasing for lines? I think your aircraft would look better with smoothed anti-aliased lines and edges. But perhaps you like the crisp style of line you are currently using? It's just a thought, and there is room for all styles of art here

Yes, Inkscape does have a feature called blur to make anti-aliased/blurred effect. I use it a lot primely for shading effect. In the next profile I will give more attention to the lines. Thank you for the suggestion BLOWHARD.

    Cheers
