Two weeks until SPS goes down

Hello,

A small update on what will happen with SPS.
At the end of januari, SPS will go down. So, what will happen next?

The forum will be gone. After discussing and investigating things, I and several other people think that going on in the Facebook community is the best option we have right now. If you don't have an Facebook account. You can create one, and just use your first name (split it of use"something like "You know how" as you sirname, and set the right privacy settings, so people cannot look you up if you do not want to.

If people are interested in helping administering the community, just let me know.

The resources, several people allready were worried about this.
The IL-2 templates: I cannot host these any longer. They are large and eat a lot of resources. I will discuss with Jesters (who made most) for a solution where we might place them on some free file sharing site....
But how will you know? Well that brings me to the rest:
The color charts, many tutorials and the fonts and markings are moving to my personal blog. The color charts are allready there, and I am working on transferring the tutorials. I will also keep you updated on the IL-2 templates there.

After SPS has closed, the domain will also point to that page, so people who missed this post, or who follow a link from other sites still can access the resources they are looking for.

I know some people have expressed a desire to avoid Facebook, or might just prefer the online forum format over Facebook. I'm active on a number of forums, but my main one is called Beyond the Sprues.

I know a number of people from SPS already hang out or visit there (Ronnie, Clave, JP Vieira, etc.), so I know anyone else would be welcome. It's a good forum with a nice, active, supportive community of aviation and vehicle enthusiasts, including a core of profile artists.

Personally, I'll be active on the Facebook group and on the various forums, so I'm sure I'll see all of you in one place or another moving forward. I really appreciate all the help that I got on SPS over the years.

That's sad news indeed. SPS has been my home for like 10 years, and me and other good folks here will surely miss it.
I also want to thank Serval and other site admins for their work and help to maintain this resource so that we could display and exchange our work here.

Shouldn't be too long. The owner is an Aussie, so he lives life upside down from the rest of us (Grubby will probably get his activation email instantly). I'll shoot him a PM just in case, though.

Thanks, Vuk. Yeah, it's mostly "whif", but all work is certainly welcome and there's quite a lot of "real world" work, but even the what if stuff is still really high quality. A lot of the armor models, for instance, really blow me away.

Well, the final hour are there. SPS will close soon. I really dont know when the server is switched off, but I guess it will be one off these days.
I arranged that from that moment the domain will point to my blog, to help people find the resources I have moved over in the last few weeks. I'll make a "welcome" page for people who enter through the SPS domain, which makes clear what is happening and where to find things. I'll also point to the links I mention here:
