Everything is lost
I've been using Netscape navigator for some time now. But suddenly, it crashed on a site wich I visited many times before: SCIFI.COM | Battlestar Galactica Windows terminated the navigator programm. Naturally, I fired it up again. Now netscape asks me for a screenname and password, wich I don't have. Clicking 'cancel' takes me to a screen were I have to select a profile. Appearantly, I had a profile wich i was unaware off. I also click that away and i can finally start surfing. I have to sign in at every forum, Ubi.com, simmerspaintshop and 1java and probably a few others. So the password manager doesn't work. And worst of all, all my bookmarks are gone
Does anyone know what happened and how I can get all my bookmarks back?

Re: Everything is lost
Well if you started a new profile then cookies should be saved at the visited sites, so you don't need to login repeatedly.
I have not used Netscape in about 2 years, but I seem to recall that there was a setting in the options of the version I used that gave a choice on how to startup the browser. You might check to see if there are options there to start directly into the homepage instead of the profile manager.
And if Netscape is asking for a screenname and password, I seem to recall this was related to Netscape mail? If so then you'll need to edit the preferences for that also (don't check mail at launch, etc.)
But the short of it is, if your profile was corrupted, then I don't think you can get it back. I'm not sure about the bookmarks being lost, they may be somewhere in your Netscape folder? Check for folders called profiles and see if you spot anything. Something you can do to prevent your bookmarks getting lost is to periodically export them to a file.
