    Need a little help with a unit marking

    Heres my problem;
    I am installing a JG2 Rooster insignia
    This has been done on the left cowling.Looks fine.
    The problem is this insignia was also on the right Cowl as well on the real aircraft.
    I'm sure no pilot in JG2 would have wanted the rooster heading south on the right cowl of his aircraft.
    Is it possible to install the insignia on the right cowl and somehow create a mirror image so its facing forward the same way as on the left cowl.
    I'm stumped
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Need a little help with a unit marking

    Hi there, I don't think the wrong forum is why there's no responses yet, probably most readers aren't sure what the right answer is. I didn't see your post before, probably been too busy working on the wiki setup these last few days.

    In anycase, I'll move this thread for you to the general skinning forum to see if that's of any help.

    And my own attempt to find an answer... It sounds like one approach to this might be to try to mirror the insignia on the right cowling manually. The best way to try this will probably be to put that insignia on it's own layer, and do the mirroring there. Depending on the direction the insignia is facing, you'd either need a flip horizontal or flip vertical command on just that selected layer containing the right side insignia.

    Hope this helps out, if not post back and I'll take another look at it.

    Re: Need a little help with a unit marking

    Most times unit markings face front on both sides when they're carried on both sides. I don't see any good photo reference online but this should do if it's accurate-

    I'm pretty damn sure the Eagle decals of Hahn's planes are accurate, or so say all of the photos and first hand interviews in the Assi Hahn book by Crandell-

    I'd be 99.9% sure they would face front on both sides. If you want to be really sure find some photos specifically of the plane you're doing. If you're basing these on conjecture, who's to say?

    On to your other problem, first, we need to know what application you're using. In Photoshop, simply flip horizontal. You can copy/paste/flip horizontal and slide it into place. If you've already got the duplicate in place, select it and flip it. You'll find the flip command under Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal. Any other application and you'll need to wait for someone else to answer.

    FAST AND BULBOUS!
