Thread: My first

    My first

Not actually if you count a series of airbrushed dyes on board profiles I did in 86 or 87.
It's VERY early infancy. There are still a few basic shape issues I haven't completely worked out yet. No shadows cast by the wings, no details or rivets. Or in short, WIP WIP WIP

For a first try at digital profile making the shading is allready quite complex and accurate Looking forward to seeing more from you!

    Thanks guys
the shading is allready quite complex and accurate
I would pick one with complicated contours wouldn't I I realized this just a bit too late I think it's mostly there, just a few improvements.
Sparty, thanks for the offer. I've already hit up Jester on the file size question I've been trying not to get involved with IM and ICQ, things are already to complex for me But email and PM works fine for me. I'm probably WAY over my limit as size goes, 9720 px across I think I'll be reducing it some one I add numerous layers
I had planned on doing the model 21 through 52 but after I finish this one my heart might not be in it. I'm more of a Luftwaffe guy

Still noodling the mechanical details and getting a grip on what I think I'd like to do-

The rivets and indentations are still place holders, no variation or anything complicated. I'm still not sure if I'm doing this the best way yet either. I'd like a more organic look so simple selections and fills might not work for what I want.

And...OH what about the wing underside I think to do it right I need to stretch what I've got so that it's a full span wing, do all the details and the rescale the wing to the correct foreshortened size. I can't think of how else I'll get the variation of thickness in the panel lines horizontal versus vertical AND get the rivets in there correctly too.

A lot of things that you just don't need to deal with on flat textures

I still haven't reduced the file size yet but I think that will be next. It's taking quite a while just to save or even make a complicated selection
Most everything I've done so far was created with paths so reduction and any rework won't be a problem.

Another update. I'm still figuring out what to do as I go and having fun noodling details. I should probably start on that perspective wing detail next :PName: a6m3_22.jpg
