I had a cat when I was a kid that you could give dog bones to and she would take them to our german shepard, but they grew up together, kitten and puppy, Might as well have been brother and sister lol.

We had a dog and a cat. Once the cat had kittens, the dog took care of the kittens. When the cat was out having fun the dog cared for the kittens and punished the cat when she came back for being out too long.

Except us noone was allowed to approach the kittens. A Neighbour kid who normally could do things with the dog no "stranger" could, thought she could pick one of the kittens out of the basket. But even she was attacked by the dog when she tried.
