Re: Video tutorial: Lesson 1 Getting started

    Hi all

Can not get this tutorial to start. The site is hanging at 2 elements still to be loaded (shown at the bottom of the page), but does not load them. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

The video is actually located at YouTube. Possible that the connection with YouTube was temporary not available?

I'm also getting the page not fully loading, but I've not ID'd the reason. However I did just check the video and it started to play OK.

EDIT: Ok, looks like the comment button isn't appearing? Hmm...

Hallo Serval. No, I checked YouTube and that is available, however I am still not able to get in the tutorial. Same 2 elements not loading message as before.
OK wait I just got it running. I have youTube running separately at the same time. Don't know if this is the trick?

Question: Is Photoshop a 'must' to make or change skins or are there alternative graphics programs that can be used?
    Thanks

Never mind Serval. I found the answer under the "What software do you use" thread.
    Thanks

Hey, I've got Photoshop 7 and tried to install the filter you recommend. It throws up errors so i guess that this filter is not compatible with Photoshop 7.

Is there any other way to eliminate white from the void.bmp?

You might need to install one or two DLL files.

Read this post, if you got that error, then the solution is posted under it:
    http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/foru...nts-6-0-a.html

Otherwise, start a new thread in the Photoshop forum telling what error you exactly get.

The Wndows system folder is possible. Good and also bad thing is that DLL files there are available to every program that might use it.
Why I also call it a bad thing: Some DLL files have different versions. And then this plug in might work fine, but another program which uses another version of the DLL won't work due to missing functions or different parameter settings. That is why I allways suggest to place the file in the same directory were the .exe file is (Photoshop.exe in this case).
Another pro of placing DLL's near the program that uses them: your system won't get crowded with useless DLL's When you remove the program the DLL's you do not need will also be gone.
