You have no reason to be reluctant to post here, It looks ok to me, and at least you had a good (great) reason for creating this work, me I just do it for my own amusement.![]()
I've been kind of reluctant about posting what I have done because most of the work on this site is head and shoulders above mine but i figure what the heck. I'm pretty happy with the results.
A little back ground. The SBD-3 is the plane my wife's Grandfather flew off the Lexington and the Betty is the plane he was credited with shooting down on Febuary 20, 1942.
The number on the Betty is just speculation as I couldn't find the actual number Ono was flying. It's printed and framed and will be presented to my Father-in-law for Christmas.

Thanks for posting this jrcjr65. You've done a really fine job on these, and they have a story and background that takes them to a special level. Great work!
Looks great, JC. Very well done, they have a very natural feel. Don't hesitate to post, these guys are insanely helpful!
Grubb.
Don't know if this breaks forum etiquette or not, but after having another look at this profile, I was a little concerned about the placement of the items other than the aircraft, thus spoiling what is a nice profile set otherwise. So with a few minutes before leaving work for the day I made a very quick attempt to address these issues. Without making any major changes this is what I came up with.
I hope you don't take offence.![]()
No offense taken. Actually I struggled with that issue myself. To be honest I like your layout better. Wish I had posted this before I had it printed up..!
