Going back a few posts, I think the USAF also offered the RAAF some F-105s while the F-111 was fixed. But the RAAF ended up leasing 24 F-4s, which were a hoot to watch at air shows. Think the RAAF must have made the right choice because at one point it looked like the RAAF was going to buy the F-4s and ditch the F-111s.
Regarding the dump and burn, it remains one of the best show stoppers I've seen and looks even better at night. During Australia's bicentennial celebrations, three F-111s did a simultaneous night dump and burn over Sydney. Spectacular.
i bet, gotta love the old aardvark and sparkvarkgives me an idea actually that.....
