Hmm, are you applying this filter to the background? If so then you might need to place a new white layer below it, so you can see the details again. I don't have CS3 so I'm not certain on what it might be doing.
Anybody have any idea why I can't get this working? It doesn't show up in my filters at all though Page Curl does. At first I placed it in the filters folder, but when it failed to show I placed it in the same folder as the PS.exe file. Still no go......Serval came to the recue with MSVCR10.dll and now it's working (???) but when I apply it the image I'm working on goes completely black!!! What the hail?????

Applied to the whole image. That's what I'm supposed to do isn't it? Any idea on where that tutorial is on doing tutorials? Yeesh!
Remove white removes wthie completely.
It does not work on the background.
And, light grey and other colors with some white in them become partially transparent.
Only black will not be transparent.
You wimage can trun black when you background color is set to black.
Exactly what Serval said. Promote the background to a new layer, and then run the filter. Also, double check what your Photoshop 'empty' area color is set to. Mine is small white and gray checker boards. As Serval says, if it's set to solid black, you won't see anything after running Remove White.
