    New Project

Well, since I'm trying to figure where I wanna go with my P-51D, I figured I'd start something else. Just started it this morning. I figured I'd jump on the jet bandwagon.

Good choice of jet ! I would make the front fuselage and the intake trunks etc. different selections and shade them differently as they all have quite different shapes Any idea about a unit you want to do?

also make sure you put a shadow behind the nacelles as they are seperate from the fuselage initially, and angled slightly toe-in shall we say.

    Re: New Project

The shadow that is shown is the general "at the bottom" shadow that follows the length of the plane from all the pics I've seen. I plan on doing more. As for what unit, if I stick with the Tactical Blue sceme, I'll probably do VF-154 "Black Knights". I was thinking about doing "Vandy 1" also.

    Re: New Project

I was thinking VF-154 because they were assigned to USS Constellation back when my stepdad was serving on her (WESPAC 85). But, ever since seeing her at the 1996 Chattanooga Air Show, Vandy 1 has always caught my eye.....I mean, how often do you get to see a black Tomcat?

Sundowners is always a favourite scheme of mine, but so are the Israeli 'Cats, a nice looking aircraft and nice paint.

Israeli Cat's? Israel never operated the F-14, the operate a large fleet of F-15's but no tomcats. Iran operates tomcats though their airworthyness is a subject of dispute

Not too much to dispute. Airliners.net has several pics of Iranian Cats taken last year.
