    Re: Nord 2501 Noratlas

    GM,

Fantastic!! Really like your bumping. Maybe your best yet??

For your consideration---a little more shape shadowing on the lower cowl, lower engine inlet, and wing root at intersection with nacelle boom?

    Man, you're good!!

I can''t spot the "bumping" Gaetan, maybe it does need a bit more density, or I'm looking in the wrong place. The profile is looking fantastic!

I seem to remember that Heller kit.

Thanks, Joe! Glad you like it.

Grubby, here is a beefed-up version of the bumping:

This is 37% opacity (instead of 17%), which is way too strong IMO. What I'd recommend though, is that you compare the drawing I showed previously with the one before that (which has no bumping). If you have the impression the last one looks more worn out than the previous one, then I have achieved my goal.

I like to use extremely discreet effects which do not stand out but give an overall "feel" which looks right. Especially for weathering, which is made up of different wear and tear symptoms, which don't stand out individually (paint chips, distorted metal, corrosion, paint wear and fade, dirt, scratches, exhaust staining).

Weathering is still one of my priorities as I am not very good at it.

Got to say gamary, you've come on in leaps and bounds in your profiling. This is excellent, it really jumps out at you, got too love it.

I have the same problem with metal warping, I think that in the end it depends on the direction of sunlight, if the light hits it head on then you will see no warping at all, but if the light hits from an angle this will show up the warping. this is something that I'm still playing with.

    Re: Nord 2501 Noratlas

    hi gamary my friend,

thank you for posting this over on AWF, yes i do think naked french birds are ***y!!! only as long as they are military ones!!!!!.
tell me are you doing your profiles in sections now, the same way as i do? because now you are onto multi engines it makes life a lot easier,
not sure if i like your bumping, you have bumps where there is a longeron, this would be unusual.
anyway keep up the good work, one day i will get back to doing mine, 8 started and i have not done any for months
