Re: The wind is getting up . . . 12 up
Ok, I checked through my photographs because I couldn’t remember the reason (I’m getting old you see) behind the moving of the highlight on the nose. Although the pics posted here don’t show it off in any great way, it does tend to be a flat curved top rather than a domed top as depicted in my first go. I agree, it does at first glance look out of place on the new drawing, but in fact is more accurate. Maybe my application is lacking in some way, which makes it look less convincing, so I will work on it some more tomorrow.
I’m with you on the nose plaster BH, looking at it again, the shape could use a little tune up.
To put this “new” lighting into perspective, I have re hashed it to look like a restored aircraft for a specific purpose, not a wartime aircraft like my usual stuff.
I want it to look a bit more photographically accurate. So there will be 2 versions of the same template in reality. 1 being the traditional drawing style, 2 being the more realistic “photographic” style. It’s sort of an experiment with the hopes of filling 2 different types of brief.
Every ones opinions are both valid and appreciated on this and will be used to gauge the finished drawings. After knocking out about 8 slightly different prints over the past 3 days, all with slight alterations, my wife and I still like the original drawing better.
But that’s what its all about . . . .both will get used in some shape or form I’m sure.
So cast a critical eye and post your opinions pls, its all taken into account.
Will post an update of the combi job when I have ported the new details over.

I don't think your Hurricane sucks, Jesters. Especially as I have a copy of it here at home in full-size. I also prefer the older version.
As for the top cowling thing, I think you should maybe tone it down a bit. It might be accurate but it does intrigue.
Also, I'd recommend you lengthen the exhaust stack's shadow: it looks too small IMHO. And the highlight at the base of the lower prop seems too strong to me, as it would be in the shade of the spinner.

You maybe getting older....(GASP!) But go with your gut feeling. That gut feeling more than likely will tell you the right course to take. That's how I go about my stuff! Afterall, if my gut dont get satisfied, I;m afraid I'll end up drinking Peptobizmol instead of a glass of Red Wine!

After looking more closely at both lighting versions, I have to say I like the original better also.
