First, while Yahoo appears more and more to be a safe place for people creating users accounts and then start posting SPAM on the forum or through the PM system, we see ourselves forced to ban all Yahoo domains. Part of the reason is that Yahoo is very unwilling to take action against such users, they typically see it as the problem of the targeted websites. So, I request everyone who has registered with a yahoo address to provide another valid E-mail address.
Then I read that currently more and more people abuse existing user accounts to post spam. Note, every account abused for spam will be banned permanently, regardless whose account it is. If your account got abused it simply means you had a very weak password.
It appears that some people use their accountname or real name as a password. If you are one of them, create a strong password now!. From now on I will run a check on weak passwords and especially passwords identically to the username or real name and those accounts will be closed.
You can update your password in the UserCP under Edit Settings.
Last thing to say: Spam through the PM system is hard to track for us. They are smart enough not to offer all those nice products to us. So, if you get spam through PM, forward it to one of the staff members and tell from which user you got it, so we can stop the spam.
