    Re: TBD-1 Devastator

    heeelllo!

Gamary asked about the effects i made on the torpedo. here is the answer fellas:

    1. use photoshop
    2. complete torpedo with shading etc - use 'merge all visible layers'
    3. duplicate layer (this layer on top)
    4. SMUDGE the parts you want on the top layer
    5. erase parts of the top layer where you want the 'clean' look
    6. Voila ! (that's French for English ta da !)

Alors, ca march mon vieux ?

    John,

yes ! All good. Bane of my life is sub-standard drawings. I have written 100 times on the blackboard "I will not commence a profile unless i have an adequate drawing". And now you will excuse me as I attempt to salvage my original TBD-1 . . .

The worst part is that he's usually right. At first you start thinking "what does he know?" but then you realise he's right and start hating his guts because of all that extra work. In the end of course it was worth it and you thank him. Frustration does have that sting, though.

    Re: TBD-1 Devastator

    Hey John,

Don't be jealous of the skills we allegedly have. Some artists have talent, but in my case all I have is persistence mixed with no talent (and sub-standard drawings). Meanwhile, you are about to acquire the status of patron saint of drawings! Thanks for your help,

    Re: TBD-1 Devastator

Why be jealous? The only problem with your drawings is that we haven't been seeing enough of them IMO. Get back to work!
