Hows about this...A5M Claude damaged and yet managed to bring her back home in "one" piece! A rugged IJNAF WW2 a/c?!?!

I remember a pic of a US ww2 naval aircraft the had lost about as much if it's wing.

That picture was of an Avenger IIRC. The Japanese plane hasn't lost too much of its wing, though. Notice how the pilot is applying aileron to compensate for the asymetrical lift and ensuing roll tendency.

There was also those two Spitfires which collided in mid-air and got stuck together:

They made it back, too.
