Same story here. My Mustangs are about 2500 pix while my B-17s (gotta get back to them someday) are 4800 pix. Not ideal for large printing, but it's fine for viewing on a PC.

    Re: Newbie with Non-Mil

Here's the progress on the RV. Thanks for the inputs! I need some work on the canopy still but it's starting to come along. I took some of the inputs and tried to incorporate, but I suspect the skin could use a little texture, which I'm still figuring out. I also toned down some of the highlights and de-saturated the skin a bit. As for weathering, no can do. It's a clean airplane I need a bulb on the tail light, but you can see some of the detail around the tail area.

    Re: Newbie with Non-Mil

Far better this time, in my oppinion.
However, as you mention the canopy still need some work.
The A-7 talk got me inspired so i started working on a A-7, and I think the canopy glass looks pretty good...I hope it can give you some inspiration. I have had may problems getting the canopy right, and still think it need some improvement...but heres what it looks like at the moment.
The more gloss a material is, the sharper the transistion from highlight to shade. A very flat material such a this USN A-7s gull gray camo-scheme, makes the highlights (and the shade) areas outline blurred.

i really hope this make any sence at all...My english could be so much better !

Not bad at all! The canopy is interesting: keep working on it and you should get a good result. The panel line are too thick IMO. Keep in mind that they are not very visible usually, except on very dirty and weathered a/c.

Well, I'm plinking away a little at a time. I swapped out the paint scheme, changed canopies, moved to a 3-blade prop and went with the small rudder. Just when I think this is starting to look OK, I take a look at some of the work here!

I moved on to another airframe (RV-10) for a couple friends of mine that are getting ready to fly the airplane. I'm still having problems with the glass but I keep pinging away on it. Most of the warbirds here are also pretty flat so there's some challange in doing glossy schemes.

Looks good! The upper fuselage looks pretty glossy. I think the key to a 'glossy look' is to make the edges of shadows and highlights sharper than usual.
