Re: The famous Fw190D Yellow 10 PickAs

    Hi Otterkins2
Thanks to your last post, I've took away the ETC. And you are right, I must do it as a separate illustration. It will be more confortable for me to modified my profiles in the future. Sure ! That's why I like this forum, always good observations from "Experten" !!
    Best regards

    It's looking pretty strong
Is that blue supposed to be 76 or 65? Crandall says 76. Since he's had a long and very personal relationship with the plane he's probably right 76 ought to be much more pale.
You really owe it to yourself and this plane to do the fabric elevator surfaces justice. I guess I'm the champion of this subject since I keep saying it; those lines on the drawings are to indicate the framework, THEY ARE NOT visible as lines on the real thing. In fact, very little rib contour, if any, is ever visible. All you end up seeing are fabric tapes that cover sewn on cap strips.
I'd love to see more subtle panel line work on this one too. I think it would only improve the overall look

(You should also get rid of the outline on the parts inside the cockpit as well.)
I agree. Also on the spinner. Looks very good!

You'll probably find that you fuss more with the ETC on its own too. You'll wind up making it a project on its own. In the end, it will be far more detailed than it would if you did it as a sub-assembly of the main drawing. We often get so wired on the main illustration that we skip over the small details wanting to complete the project as a whole. Remember, a drawing is only as good as the smallest details no matter how much you've done on the overall image. Nothing...NOTHING...beats the time spent on research and you will find you spend more time at that than actually working on the drawing. You have done an excellent job representing this aircraft.

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who gave me so many usefull comments. Sure, the research before the "action", is one of the main step in a profile. Usely, for me it's a "coup de coeur", and I select a model.
Thanks to you, "my" Fw190 look much more better than the first presentation, and I've enjoyed myself, really ! (and learned a lot !)
All the best and see you soon for a next profile !

Looks great, I especially like the treatment of the mottled camo. Ive got a D-9 in the works, which is currently stalled due to a lack of good reference material, anybody got a good link?

I've got very nice profiles of Dora in a french magazine. Are you interesting on it. ? (not for publication, of course, but for camo exemples)
