    Re: Oscar Deuce

Hi GFR. It's probably just a boring old civil one. You'd know if it was the Westpac one. Differences between the two appear to be bigger windows on the O-2, as well as door and ceiling windows, and spinners, drooped wingtip extensions and fin fillets on the 337. Apart, of course, from the armament. Oh, different door arrangement too.

    ...here's a bit more progress...

Nearly done. There are still afew details to add, including the interior and main wheel. I'm not at all happy with the glass at the moment either. Then I'll tweak the shading, add some grime and she should be right. Hopefully I'll post the finished thing here tomorrow sometime.

    I think I'm done ....

The nose art is Snoopy on a kangaroo's back with a Willie Pete HVAR over his shoulder.

The interior is pure guesswork, made dark so you can't see it!

Please scream out if you see any way to improve what you see.

    Grubby.

I still think the shading's a bit flat, but I am super-impressed with how you've brought the wing "out". Has Blowhard been helping you? It looks fantastic!!!

    Re: Oscar Deuce

I found a good pic of the interior of an O-2, so I'm now happy with this new interior.

21368 was the Christmas present to one of the FAC pilots who flew this plane in Vietnam.

21407 is the O-2 that Temora museum keeps in airworthy condition and flies on open days.

Don't knock yourselves out looking for differences!

Next: That Westpac surf-patrol 337! I should probably take off the rocket pods ...

Here's the civilian 337, as threatened!

Next beast from this file will probably be a 336, the fixed undercarriage bird. There are some interesting Aussie airline schemes for them, including Ansett-MAL. There's a bit of work in it though, including reprofiling the nose, so it may be a while coming.
