Yep. I work the same 30 cm @ 300 dpi (oriented towards A3 prints).
Res (dpi) isn't so important. If you plan on printing, 4 color offset especially, 300 dpi is standard.
The important thing is the final size you plan on printing (or viewing) your files. If you want A3 sized paper, set it up that way at 300 dpi and you won't be wanting![]()
FAST AND BULBOUS!

I have mostly worked in A3 at 300dpi, but I fill the page almost end to end with the aircraft image. When I come to format the prints layout I tend to port it into a new canvas at around 340dpi to reduce the image size without messing up the pixels. Same if I want an A2 print from an A3, I make the canvas about 250dpi and there you have it, an A2 sized format and it still looks very sharp.

Here is what a real computer looks like
BTW, that's 50.83cm x 17 cm
I've used 360 dpi since I started using a computer because American Showcase used 360 dpi, the most I've ever heard called for in offset printing.
It can't hurt![]()

I've settled on 7500X4000px @300dpi as that fits nicely on my 27" monitor when I work at my preferred size of 25%.
Don't have a printing preference because I never bother to print them.
I work with PC's and Macs, and don't notice any real difference in performance or ease of use.
