Actually Graphico I trained extensively on Macs in college. But you sound like the typical mac fanboy allright. Only interested in making snide comments. Prove any of my statements wrong or don't make snide comments.

Re: Resolution?
Clint,
It seems that every year (sometimes more often) we get into the same old tired, endless Mac vs. PC debate.
I agree totally with your observations regarding Illustrator.
What is really fascinating about this site is how many different ways people approach the mechanics of profiling. Many here use the technique of scanning line drawings into Photoshop and "color within the edgelines" to accomplish their (magnificent) work without ever using Illustrator. A few others use Illustrator for profiles without ever using PS, and several use Corel software for their purposes.
I started profiling a few years ago using Illustrator to do my line work and scaling before colorizing in Photoshop. I did this because I had done mostly precision line drawings, where Illustrator was the king of the day for flexibility and efficiency.
My initial approach was to take the .ai file, import it into PS ver. 7 as Paths and do the profile art work in PS. After a few profile experiences, I found that I didn't need Illustrator for my particular applications (A3 prints at 300dpi). I now scan line drawings directly into PS, then use the PS vector capabilities (pen and paths) to complete the line drawing (in paths) and scale it up or down if needed. I then save the vector paths for line modifications and other follow-on profiles. I'm curious if anyone else does the task this way? In corresponding with GM, for example, I know he doesn't save paths.

Re: Resolution?
Hi Vacajun
I think I will always use Illustrator for the line art as I tend to get ridiculously deep into the technical drawing aspect of the base plans which is exactly what Illustrator is pretty much designed for. I probably could with great difficulty create my technical drawings in Photoshop but its vector drawing capabilities are not really powerful enough (yet!) Shame as I tend to prefer the way that Ps's pen tool works to Illy's, you can get much more fluid curves for some reason maybe because it's easier for creating clipping paths. I just couldn't imagine myself creating line art in Ps really. Each to their own I suppose

Hi Supah can do me a favour, chill it down fella do really think i posted to make snide comments at you, er, lets think.......that would be a no then. It was posted as it reads, light hearted and in response to helping someone. If memory serves me correct you brought the topic up in the earlier post, personally, I don't really care. Hope your sense of humour bypass op gets better. Funny how you always get one spoiling the deeds of others.
Yours truly mac fan boy, over and out.

Re: Resolution?
Priceless Clint! Don't give a rat's behind about what anyone is using. Whatever floats yer boat. It's the end result that counts. We've seen outstanding examples here by both PC users and Mac affectionandos. Quit the quibbling kids and let's see more amazing work. Use Ubuntu if you want to. Just get to work!!! Wait a sec....what have you done lately you lazy sod Clint!!!
