If you have access to this aircraft as you say, why not get alongside it on a nice bright day and take a photo of the nose and other areas. That will tell you what it really looks like. To help you get rid of your outer line try this. In Photoshop, using the Magic Wand tool, select the area outside the image. Then go to 'Select/Modify/Expand' and make the selection about 3 to 5 pixels larger (varies according to the size of your image). Now fill the area with the same colour as your background. This will wipe out your outer line. Finally, never use Jpgs for your image. Always make them Tiffs simply because Jpgs deteriorate every time you touch them. Incidentally, I've done something similar to your image with my Zivko 540 (look a couple of pages back). Hope this helps a bit.
