Heeey,
since we are in the mood to post Japanese profiles, has anyone (especially John) got a niiiiiiice profile of a Ki-51 Sonia?

I have a CD at home with Corsair sounds and stories by veteran Corsair pilots. On the question "what was the toughest foe for the Corsair" the answer is quite surprising indeed: the "Myrt", i.e. C6N Saiun. It flew too high (40,000+ ft) and too fast (400+ mph) for the Corsair to catch it.
The toughest enemy fighter was the Ki-61 Hien or "Tony", by the way, due to its good overall performance and speed matching the Corsair. If the Hien's engine would have been more reliable, it could've made a much bigger contribution to the war than it did. But that's another story for another day![]()

I have a choice of real nice Ki-51 profiles for you, except I'm in a different country than my books at the moment...
If anyone else has the Maru Mechanic or Matsuba Minoru's great drawings then hopefully they can help you quicker.

Comrades,
one of my favourite Ki-51s as it appeared at Hollandia in April 1944. Argument as to which unit it was assigned (possibly 10th Reconn Sentai). Saaay John (ahem), you dont happen to have a good Ki-45 (Nick) profile do you ?
