I think B-17 was designed earlier than Liberator....
Anyone know why they designed the rudders that way? I suspect it might have been related to the well known B-24 problem of maintaining directional control following a double-engine loss on one side. Understand that it took unbelievable effort to trim the airplane.![]()

This project slept for a while but now it seems to get to the end...
some WIP detil on the nose

Mark,
My comment had more to do with the airfoil shape of the leading edge of the rudder--why not make the shape the same for the upper and lower portions of the rudder??
Prop wash? Balance?
FAST AND BULBOUS!
Hi Guys,
due to some miscommunication with Zamex, I had to undergo complete new approach to B-24...I hope this one is a bit more promissing, and what is more important it is definitelly more a template for J/H all subversions.
opinons? pretty much a WIP

The lower fuselage is on fire.
Can we get a version without the smoke? We'd get a better idea of the drawing... Looks like a good start.

Here it is Gamary...with slight update on engines
The smoke under the fuselage was due to the different noses and ball turret possitions. so I wanna keeep it optional for final adjustments

Thanks.
Looks good. Have you thought of putting a little reflected light on lower surfaces? It would bring the shape out further IMHO. It's a matter of style and taste, of course (Blowhard will now jump on this...).
