    WIP: Su-17M4 top view profile

    Hi!
I'm working on a profile for forthcoming book on Soviet AF in Germany.
First of all shapes and volumes were made:

    Then I added some details:

Next step will be work on shadows.
    Regards,
    Yury

VERY Nice Brahio! I have been thinking about trying this out too, also after seeing some of Inkworm's work!

Well, I have a little updates for today. Colleagues on another forum warned me that I had used bad blueprints and my profile had wrong shapes. So I had to redraw the profile for the last two days.
I can't say it was funny to do the same work again Nonetheless reshaping is finished. You can clearly see the difference between previous red profile and blue new one. Now it definitely looks like Su-17M4.

And I added panel lines and details on wings and stabilizers.

    Cheers,
    Yury

Well reworking something completely is never fun but I do find that the second time around it often looks slightly better too because you allready know the trouble spots and have had more time to think about them It looks fantastic Brahio, looking forward to seeing more details and paintscheme's added!

Yury, one of the first things I learned here is to NEVER trust anyone else's work. We are all human and therefore make mistakes. Since I can't colour yet, for me it's a simple matter of correcting five or six layers. For you it has got to be a nightmare. It's really important that you do your own research and verify your information from photographs of the actual bird before getting too far into the drawing.

That being said, you simply can't go wrong posting your work here. There are many knowledgeable and very talented members eager to help you. We'll poke holes in your work until we can't find any more. Then you can go to print confident that you have the best product possible. All of us are very friendly (except for Sir John who's a cranky old codger) and willingly share information. You just found a home, and the best family you'll ever know.

This looks like a vey promising profile. I'm looking forward to further work, and hope you'll do a side profile as well.

Well... My usual experience shows that the most important photos appear when I've already got too far into the drawing

OK, a little update for now. Work on details is almost done, I just have to add pilot's cockpit. And then I'll begin to cast shadows.

The monochrome version in except of cockpit is done. Now it's time to add some camouflage colors.
