Thread: Not a Nieuport

    Re: Not a Nieuport

Hey Jester, I was pretty sure you had thought of the color but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
And your right, despite how many samples of PC10 fabric there are, despite how detailed the dope mixing instructions are, despite how many first hand accounts there are, the experts just can't agree what color PC10 really was!

One other detail to check, take a look at your subject's cabane struts. Were they fabric wrapped? Were the inter-plane struts partially or fully painted?
Same with the prop, partially or fully painted? Just some details to make sure you check with your reference since those details change from plane to plane.
...and, make sure you get all those Sopwith decals in place

    This I am enjoying

Be nice to a French ignoramus. What could that be? Obviously John knows and enjoys it.

That's 203x203 pixels, isn't it big enough? It'll be SO small on your plane you won't see anything but an orange circle! Plus, it's at least good enough to draw a better one from isn't it?

Or did you want the tail lettering?
The best I have is this-

It's not 100% but I made it for Richthofen's Skies and it was little better than 1/2 inch high
It's more accurate than the one above but it could be closer.
It's the best quickie you'll get
