    Re: Copyright infringement

    Hi Ugo!

    What a pity!

Seems that is French habit! Sorry to all French users here. I have made the same experience with "Le Fana de l'Aviation". No Money, not a single free example and never answered emails. My luck, all the profiles I have sent to them were ready and I had no extra work to do.

One day I found in the official German Luftwaffe magazine a profile from me. Bad quality because stolen from my website and all copyright marks removed. I contacted them and in the next edition was a clarification printed.

But the biggest nerve was to find a seller at ebay that sold my profiles together with selfmade medals.

I wrote him and he just said I should be proud that he uses my graphics. But if you don't get asked, how can somebody be proud. Sorry, how sick are some people.

For me I have decided following policy:

Never post full scale drawings in the web.
Just send full scale drawings to publishers you know and payment worked fine last time.
Never send full scale drawings, just previews, to publishers you don't know, for the case you haven't got an advance payment.

And most important: If you know that your purchaser is not really serious: SAY NO

    Cheers, Simon

    Re: Copyright infringement

Thanks Simon for your feedback and sharing experience. For me this was not the first time, I mean I had another "ebay" surprise that was told me by a german customer who found my lithos being rudely photcopied with a laser copy machine on light cardboard in an ugly way (he purchased a copy) at a couple of euro and the worst was he deliberately erased the copyright/credit line on the bottom. That was very very stupid by his side. He was a german guy selling inside germany and after we were on his neck with a heavy letter from my lawyer said "sorry, please don'ty persecute, won't do it again"

So, your suggestions are more than warmly welcome but once we publish anything authomatically will be a target for such thiefs. This guy had more than 100 feebacks on his ebay account....

Oh, yes that is a bit far. Perhaps maybe just sue his ass then.

I'm sorry to hear that, Simon. Check your email.
