    New ZSF P47D-22

Hello guys ! It seems that I couldn't escape my P47-mania ! Actually I'm currently making the last 3 or 4 skins I wanted to do. Then I will skip to other planes.

Today, I introduce you this P47D-22 of the 78th FG located at Duxford airfield. Some sources say that this plane is from the 84th FS of the 8th Air Force ? ... Additional information would be welcomed !

A last comment : the plane has also white stripes on the tail and stabilisers. You cant't see them on the picture but they are actually featured in the skin file :

    Available HERE

See U soon. I get back to the Factory !

    Re: New ZSF P47D-22

P-47 skins always have my admiration. There is something very wrong with the mapping of the BMP file. About two years ago, I attempted to make a P-47 skin, the aircraft from a famous american ace. The mapping and wrapping drove me mad.

I'm a bit older and wiser now, I should be able to do it. But nowadays I find only inspiration for aircraft operated by Dutch or Dutch East Indies air forces. The P-47 is not on my list

I hope I can figure out the Spitfire IX some day

The P47D bmp mapping is actually weird.

I've aslo spent many crazy hours to try to understand how it was made.

Eventhough there are still some mysterious parts ... Nevertheless I think I'm now making acceptable skin for this bird.

    Re: New ZSF P47D-22

Looking on the 8th AF website, I was able to confirm WZ-K was indeed from the 84th FS. (www.littlefriends.co.uk)

Here is some data from that website:

    SN: 42-75462
    Model: P-47D
    FS: 84
    ID: WZ-K
    Pilot:Newmark Lt. Burton J
    Name: "Lady Eve"

Nice skins. I am just starting to attempt this feat. Looks a bit daunting!
