Wha? Oh yeah, I'm old! Thanks Ad

How High the Moon is a great song!!! I hope that's the Les Paul version you're playing.
Have you gotten into and Jango stuff yet? That's rough, especially trying to do it with two fingers like he did.
Yeah, that chord and scale stuff can be pretty tricky. Just knowing all those complicated modes off the top of your head or raising 5th or any of that tricky stuff, it takes time. I never got past it. But I sure do LOVE listening to it!

Blowhard I learned a solo arrangement by Mike Christiansen for How High the Moon. I've not seen a solo type arrangement by Les Paul, but if I find one I'll learn it. I suppose even one that would play along with the record (my Hits of Les and Mary LP is one of my favorites) would even be enjoyable, but tough if it matched what Les plays.

I've not ventured into Jango territory yet. Or Wes Montgomery. I've thought about it, but maybe after I'm at a point of departure in the stuff I'm learning now.

I've got an excellent transcription of "Chinatown" by Chet Atkins that I've "played at" a few times. I may actually get serious with that one one day soon.

Great Ad! I wish I lived near by, I'd come over with my bass and we could "doodle" some tunes together

i think you should have bought a Marshall, with real valves in, with a nice Les Paul gold top to bring out the best
