    Re: SB2C Helldiver

I thought the colors looked ok, unless they're not supposed to be faded. I assumed they were washed out on purpose.
I also came to the conclusion that modern restorations were usually too bright and colorful.
This is just after a cursory glance at the color chips in the Monogram Navy color guide, mind you. I'm no expert.

I think the colors could use a little more saturation. Not much, just a little bit.

I'm thinking about the colors in photos like this one.

    just a little query,

i thought the underside colour was white and i most certainly agree the colour is TOO washed out.

was it really white? I have doubts...or better said, do not have prove it was...

    Re: SB2C Helldiver

the 3 tone camouflage used in the pacific was as follows,

    non specular sea blue
    non specular intermediate blue
    non specular white

    'non specular' means not gloss

this is from 5th Jan 1943, prior to this the navy used 2 tone blue/grey scheme

i could post a million colour picture showing this but i will let you google "navy 3 tone camouflage"

    Re: SB2C Helldiver

    Nice work!
The only thing I'd recheck is the wingtip that seems a little blurred...

    Re: SB2C Helldiver

Bring up the contrast, more shadow and highlights!!! The wing is blending into the fuselage. On the French one the lower wing root just blends right in. This will look great if you can give it some three dimensional quality. This is a FAT plane, gotta get those shapes defined
