The side looks a flat while it should be curved. The weathering does look very good!
Hi guys,
Here is my lastest project with the P40 Curtiss of the famous "Papy" Boyington.
All constructive comments are welcome. (I must take care with my tank designer reflexes....even if these Flying Tigers Curtiss were quite dirty)
All the best

Yes, you were right. Here is the P40 with some shade and light modifications.
Thanks a lot !!

Things you might wish to consider.
Needs more/darker shade on the rear fuselage, blending up to the panel line just under the 21.
Also needs to have the trailing edge of the wing fairing softened with shade, they are quite rounded and not razor sharp as you have depicted it.
I'd also substantially blur and lessen the highlights running along the top of the fuselage, it'll give a better depiction of the flat paint that these aircraft actually served in, going buy the images that I have at hand.
Or not.
Weathering is very nice, as usual.
Sorry, I do not agree for more/darker shade on the rear fuselage, blending up to the panel line just under the 21. This is not correct with the P40 fuselage.
But you are right with the trailing edge of the wing, they are quite rounded and I have to correct it.
For highlights running along the top of the fuselage, it's a details, but I ca test to substantially blur it, just to see to difference.
Thanks

any chance of a detail of part of the fuslage, always interesting to see how the weathering/rivet effects are done
Harriers...uppy downy things.

Cheers, looks very different, have you just stuck a grunge/dirt layer over the colour among other things?

Hi inkworm, yes, I'm working with many layers, but the most important is to have pictures of the model, not only in a museum, but during WWII too. Then you "feel" the weathering of your profile.

Here is the P40 with modifications of trailing edge of the wing. Thank GiantFlyingRobot. And thanks all for your comments. Next step...the Boyington's F4 Corsair...
