The problem with museum stuff is it's all cleaned up in 99% of cases, I was just curious how you'd done it.

The one problem with the Flying Tigers is that there are quite a range of colour options both on the camo and the roundels which people seem to have, even on the FT site I don't think they are 100% agreed on the shades used!

Nice profile and good timing as I've got a P-40 to finish this week!

Pictures (walkaround) in museum are very usefull for details, but not for colours (of course !). You can find a lot of photos of Flying Tigers in 1941 and some of these are in colours. You can see (and imagine) the poor conditions of these P40 in such "spartiat" aerodrome, with dust etc...Then, all these informations are really usefull for you model's weathering. Have a nice profiling with your P40. We are waiting for it !!

Seeing as you ask here's the side, got a few bits to add to the markings and top/underside views are only half way there so you'll have to wait for them

Sure ! Very nice, but too "clean" . We've choose different colours, but how to be sure of the exact Brown and green after 70 years...

Hmmm I'm not too sure it is too clean, you could argue that it depends at what point in the a/c career it is being represented, plus some of the photos I've used for reference show them as a bit dusty but not as dirty or weathered as I personally would have thought.

As for the green and brown some of the old photos seem to show the brush marks but hard to tell on what is right.

It's only a drawing after all

Sure, you are right, it's just a question of style. If we keep a "true way of profiling" with correct blueprint and history, then it's not important to be or not to be too dirty. Let's enjoy with our profiles

As long as they aren't all polished and new looking like restored warbirds, I hate that.

It is good to compare how we all tackle the same subject with different approaches and I will add more weathering and stick it up, just painting a model with my daughter at the moment, it is different I can certainly say!

Good, I'll keep all of mine nice and clean, because lets face it, they were at some point exactly that
