    Re: Albatros and Pfalz

    Hello Blowhard,

thank you so much for the information! I still have to fix Büchners D.VII but before Simmerspaintshop will be closed forever i will show you a drawing i'm quite proud of: it's Werner Voß' Fokker F.I. I hope you enjoy it!

    Best regards:

VERY NICE! Always an excellent subject!
I have a more accurate set of Fokker numbers and letters if you are interested.
Great job on the camouflage streaking too. That is VERY hard to make look right!
A few small things, no wing skids on the two Fi planes.
Have you seen this page? It has all the known photos I think.

The wing struts look good not

    Re: Albatros and Pfalz

    Hello everybody,

just like the last time it's been a while now since I showed at Simmerspaintshop. I am quite short on time for drawing at the moment as I am currently working on a book about Serial Killers (probably the best way for a criminologist who is forced to make his money in market research to gain some extra money with his genuine profession). Like I promised the last time, I revised my Fokker F.I; furthermore I made an image of Max Immelmann's Fokker E.III as I have been offered the opportunity to make a calendar with the twelve most succesful and important german fighter pilots of WWI. Any suggestions for improvement are always appreciated .

I hate to say it as it's a lovely profile and great wood finish but I'm not convinced by the gloss highlight along the fuselage and tail, it needs a little refinement as it makes the fuselage look a bit flat on the side.
    Harriers...uppy downy things.

    Re: Albatros and Pfalz

Was the white paint used on the markings really that white. At the moment it looks as though the fuselage has holes in it showing the paper below where the markings are. Perhaps use a slightly cream off white?

    Re: Albatros and Pfalz

Hey Björn, it looks really good!
A few points though, most D.Is through D.IIIs, including Boelcke's plane, had fabric wheel covers. I can't find any photos online but I'll look when I get home.
You've got a Daimler-Mercedes radiator but that type wasn't used and probably didn't exist when the D.II was in action. You want a Teves un Braun radiator which is completely flush with the wing. The rear part isn't raised like the Daimler. Also the Teves un Braun radiator is silver, not painted.

The wood effect is really nice!!!

    Re: Albatros and Pfalz

    Thanks for your comments!

Seems like I have to do some slight improvements, but at least I finally found an acceptable Wood effect. I took the photos for my wooden panels on a toilet in a McDonald's in Heidelberg. The door in front of me had a very nice pattern and the light was very consistent which gave me the opportunity to take some very good pictures in a high Resolution. My Body might have been tortured by the "food", but this time it was definitely worth it!

    Best regards:

    Björn
