Hi Mangas and Daliborsky, and thanks a lot for your very usefull comments. Ok for the red nose, I will modified it, and I think it will be better to change my slogan (I thought that my slogan mean "Destructor" and not fighter....)...Any propositions for a slogan for a Sturmovik in 1944 ??Thanks
All the best

In fact, I use a database with russian slogans:
:Maquetland.com:: Le monde de la maquette
But I think that there are mistakes on it. About photos, you are right, but I would like to have the translation...Remember, I need a IL2 in mid-1944. This is not so easy when you don't read cyrillic..
Classic one:
За родину
3А СТАЛИНА
3a Россия
Смерть фашистским
Is it correct ? Thanks a lot![]()
I've just briefly viewed that site you gave link to... Jeez, it has orphographical error in almost every slogan. So be careful, as it would be a pity to look at a nicely done color profile with errors in slogans...
P.S.: If you want to make a fictional profile -- that's fine... But I personally never understood why to imagine any fiction when there are so many real stuff that still needs to be art painted!![]()
Thanks Manga for your comments about the Maquetland website.
One collegue gave me these slogans.
You are right, and I don't want to take any risk with my profile with a wrong slogan. I will stay "classic" with a "СЛАВА ВЕЛИКОМУ СТАЛИНУ"

First of all, greetings to everyone from a newcomer!
There are some adds to the subject: ВПЕРЕД НА ЗАПАД (go west) is without T, СМЕРТЬ ФАШИЗМУ (death to fascism), СМЕРТЬ ФАШИСТСКИМ ОККУПАНТАМ (death to fascist occupants), СМЕРТЬ ГЕРМАНСКИМ ОККУПАНТАМ (death to German occupants), МСТИТЕЛЬ (avenger), ЗА ПАРТИЮ БОЛЬШЕВИКОВ (for bolshevik party), ЗА КОММУНИЗМ (for communism), etc.
Further on, Daliborsky wrote that ИСТРЕБИТЕЛЬ means fighter and it's true. However, we all know that Il-2 was never a fighter, so here we have another meaning: terminator or destroyer. Also, russian writings on their a/c often represent the names of national heroes (АЛЕКСАНДР СУВОРОВ, КЛИМ ВОРОШИЛОВ, ВАЛЕРИЙ ЧКАЛОВ,...), the names of fallen comrades (ЗА САФОНОВА, ЗА ВАСИКА И ЖОРУ,...) or sometimes they mean that particular a/c was donated from someone (ОТ КОЛХОЗНИКА КОНЕВА - from kolhoznik Konev) or to some distinguished pilot or it is simply the nickname of a/c (ПАРТИЗАН - partisan),...
Once again, greetings to all
Vuk
