I think you need to work the wing and wheel nacelle a little more so that they look to be separate items to the fuselage, right now they are tending to blend a little too much.
Also need to strengthen some of your panel particularly around the cockpit areas looking at the images that Mangas has supplied. We've been down this road before tho.

Hi Thierry!
very nice done profile.
Two questions:
How did you construct the star on the lower side of the wing?
For me the star looks too less compressed, and so the wings looks a little bit strange.
Why is the highlight on the spinner so strong and the light on the fuselage next to the spinner so less?
Cheers,

Re: Il-2 Sturmovik Bagration: Thanks to Maciej Noszczak
Hi Baron,
For the spinner, I consider that this part is differently treated with the others part the plane. It is less dirty than the part engine and often clean by the mechanics. So I usually prefer to give more light in this part (less monotonous...)
You are right with the star under the wing, too less compressed. Thank for your comment. I have to modified this.

Hi Thierry!
If you allow me -- a few suggestions...
1. Like James said -- your profile will benefit if you emphasis panel lines a little.
2. The paint chips are too dull. You said you like profiles by Janusz Swiatlon. Look at his paint chips... They're quite light.
3. Obviously, the highlight along the fuselage is made by the simple round brush. Perhaps you chosen too much spacing 'cause now some of the round white spots are visible on the fuselage... I suggest try play with scattering in the brush settings, or even use the brush with a texture -- that should help...
4. Is there any rivets? If they're not visible at this distance -- that's o.k... But then I suggest you make metal bumps between the rivets rows.
5. Why did you skip making panel & gunsight in the cockpit?
?????? ??-2
6. I'd suggest to make the white rings at the cowling that were used for aiming:

Hi Mangas, and thank you for your suggestions. I am going to test these modifications. Do you know the use of these white rings at the cowling ??

Hi Thierry! Looks superb now! There is just one other thing I read in the original Il-2 thread by Maciek: http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/foru...g/il-2m3-3143/
The planes didn't have metal fuselages. So there can't be chipped colour in these areas showing blank metall.
Cheers, Simon

Hi Simon,
In fact, my profile is based on the very good Maciej Noszczak book's about IL2 (Kagero editor) and thanks to Maciej blueprint, I saw this particular model with metal panels riveted on the fuselage.

As far as I know all the late series Il-2, produced in late 1944 and during 1945, had all wooden parts (wings and fuselage) replaced with metal.
Greetings!
