    Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-1

    Hello Simmers community,

Here's my profile of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-1 (K-prototype).
So she stood on the 9th August 1943 in the assembly hall of the "Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke" (WNF)
It was created by converting from a Bf 109 G-5.
In addition to various modifications, she received the DB 605 A engine.

    Greetings!
    Heli

No, it was a makeshift headrest or a safety cage made of thick dark colored Plexiglas.

No, the G-man hole with a white cardboard, sheet metal or foil was sealed with a gray or silver colored tape attached peripherally.

    Hello Supah,

I can not show photos of the Bf 109 K-1 here, because they are protected by copyright.

They are seen in the Czech entreprises Paperback "Messerschmitt Bf 109 K" by "JaPo" publication.

    Bye

Ah ok, what purpose did it serve? Inspection hatch? I am a complete beginner when it comes to ww2 aircraft.

The large manhole cover next to the number 32 is an access to the control cables ...
the compass, and various other internal components.

I think he's asking about the white rectangle just behind that one.
I'm curious about this too, it looks like the flat detail-less background white, as if it is void without any form or shape. The K prototype had the original access panel and the new one forward and higher I take it? I guess it used a G model fuselage without the old access panel removed?

Which JaPo book is this one from, I have all of them I think. Or is it from a yet to be published book?

    Hi Heli!

    Nice job!

As Heli wrote this K-4 was rebuilt from a G-5. The white areas are simply the covered hatches. The new ones were cut in the fuselage, the old ones covered.

    Cheers
