We had some good email discussions and he was always fun to have around here! I'll miss his excellent drawings too. I had started working on his Anson. Maybe I'll finish it someday.
Thanks for letting us know JM. I often wonder if I shoved off, or any of us, for that matter, would anyone know?
FAST AND BULBOUS!
So sad to hear the news, had a few private messages with Otter myself. Always around to help and offer critique when needed. Never met him, but then again you did not need to, just a sound guy. Wherever you are, hope you are flying (preferably in a FW 190) deepest sympathies to those he leaves behind. You will be missed... Jay

I learned about it recently and didn't know if it was appropriate to announce it here.
He also helped me on several occasions, with material, thoughts and critique. I used his He 162 line drawing for my profiles. We had discussed doing the Fw 190 and Me 109 as well and he was quite enthusiastic about it but that won't happen now, I imagine.
I hope his work will be saved in some way. He spent so much energy trying to make everything perfect that it would be a shame for it to be lost. He was quite strong-minded but also ready to concede he was wrong if someone brought him proof of that, usually in the form of a picture of a Fw or Me.
Bon voyage, Otter, and thank you. May you rest in peace.

hi bertrum,
i spoke to him last on the 29 april, typical otter he never said a word
i will miss our lively discussions on instant chat about whatever drawing we were doing at the time, as you know otter and i could be very cantancerous and we would say how it is.
i thought i was good, but otter made me look like a beginner, i have decided to stop doing scale drawing out of respect for otter.
to think his last words to me were about the ta152 upper nose section, God i wish i had let him win that one![]()
JMSmith (back by popular demand)
John,
Just think, would he want you to stop?
I think he wanted to help and make people better with his discussions.
Did not know the Otter.
But if you get to him a lot.
The sky is happy to welcome the otter!
SPS surely not be the same without him.
Your comments were valuable to me.
I'll miss ...
Javo
