Hold your horses Inky. This topic on TOCH is focused on a discussion about whether the Hs123 had a single upper surface colour either 70 or 71. Or a made up upper surface pattern of 70 & 71. To be honest with you both sides of the argument have valid points. No one can seem to find any photographic proof that a 2 tone scheme was in use at any point in this aircrafts lengthy career. Although it seems implausible that an aircraft would not have a splinter camo it's not impossible. Perhaps because there was not an RLM sanctioned pattern to work from maybe they did opt for one colour overall. I would certainly get hold of the new Kagero Hs123 book to see if they offer any info on a 2 tone scheme. Looking at this review here it appears that they have not found evidence of a 2 tone scheme for their profiles but only single RLM 71 upper surface colour. I would think that if they had even a single photo that gives a hint of a 70/71 scheme they would have done a profile showing it. So you might be in luck and only have to slap one colour on the upper-surfaces. John what do you reckon?![]()
