    Fw 190A-6

Here's my attempt at the 190. Still plenty of work that needs to be done but the big lines are there...

Here again, the profile is based on Otterkins' line art.

Let me know what ya think. Even John.

I'm so tired that I think I'll be taking no work for sometime after the current projects (Fw 190s & P-47s mostly) are finished and go to sleep for a week.

I particularly like the way you have highlighted the wing roots, although I'd back off the white just a smaaaaaaaaaal amount. I'm not a Luftwaffe guy but even I can see how much obliged we are to Otterkins' superb drawings.

Gamary, please show us the plane without camouflage! The wing root is too square! This part was round. So the light can't be such a small line as highlight. Maybe check Claes Sundins website to see how he has done this! Also check the tip of the vertical tail. Otter didn't draw this 100% perfect!

One of my favorite bird -- a "butcher bird"! Good start, Bert! Please go on!

P.S. the only thing I'd suggest you check the tail wheel hollow: I think it should be more flat (not so deep):

Looking REALLY good Gamary! My bit of nit picking is to watch the recesses around the cowling, gun hood and exhaust opening. Right now it looks like all of this is being glossed over by the highlights, as if it's a smooth shape. Or maybe you haven't gotten to it yet...but do be mindful of the uneven surfaces on this area.

    Re: Fw 190A-6

Thanks for your feeback guys. It's very useful and constructive as always. Here's another shot of the WIP (in grey, Simon! )

With the grey colour, I find the lower cowling too dark, but I generally end up reinforcing the shading when I start the colouring so I'll leave it as is for the moment.

@Simon: I've modified the wing root, bot on the leading and trailing edges. I think I preferred the trailing edge the way it was. From what I see on picture, the wing root fairing in not as smooth as it was on other contemporary aircraft so I think my initial version might have been better. Let me know what you think.

Cc. the fin, the shape seems fine to me, except for the antenna post, which is completely off. I'll correct that later.

@Mangas: good point. I've corrected it slightly.

@BH: indeed, the nose section lighting was incomplete. I've corrected it, but I'm interested in your opinion of it.

@John: wait until I weather it. You won't even be able to distinguish it from the white background.

There's still quite a bit of work to do, and right now it looks like a silly plastic model. It needs some weathering (aka the fun part).

The 3D work is perfect, IMHO. I study your projects carefully and, like Simon, I love when you show the basic "grey" part!

mind the camo pattern border on tye nose, should not be rounded, also the bulge on engine looks too big to me, maybe just a shadows dirty game to my eyes, but check it...

    your right peter,
the bulge on the engine looks massive, get rid of most of the highlight and blur the shadow whilst reducing its density
i only do this to try and help you bertrum, i don't really do it to wind you up
