Excellent USAAF 8th AF Reference Page

Ok, that empty forum looked somewhat sad in it'S emptyness so I want to start off

References are always appreciated so I think it'S just not right to have that room that empty! I could kill for reference material on Hershel "Herky" Green's 1st P-40 he flew on May 19th in 1943 or Robert Goebel's B/C Mustang from Mai 29th the same year. So i think I show you where I found my references so far.

First adress for me was LittleFriends.co.uk as I skinned the 56th FG Thunderbolts, 4th FG Thunderbolts and a handfull of Mustangs. Thanks for those who keep that page alive!

They offer photos, serial tables and some fine profiles which should help getting started.

Another way of getting Reference materials (for free, buying the books is, of course, another story) is browsing through the wel known scale modelling pages. Their reviews of decal sets or articles about how to build this and that plane can be very helpfull. Of course there is a chance that you might do the same "mistakes" they did, i.e. using wrong colors, markings etc.

    These are my 2 cents.

Good call, Littlefriends is an old favourite of mine. While we are at it, http://www.web-birds.com/ is another superb reference site. It is quite well know but its so good its worth mentioning again
