Applying Insignias and typed Numbers: Question

What can one do to lets say clean up frizzy borders on a Green hearts insignia or a colored number with a frizzy white surround?
I hope your not going to tell me a new graphic card.

You can start with the tutorial on this site: http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/foru...luftwaffe.html

Re: Applying Insignias and typed Numbers: Question

There is a known issue with S3T compression in Forgotten Battles. If it is enabled in the IL2 configuration utility, there will sometimes be artifacting on aircraft skins.

Can't be sure if this is what you are describing, take a screenshot and save it as a slightly compressed .jpg and attach it here on the forums. That'll make it easier to find the solution.

Re: Applying Insignias and typed Numbers: Question

Here are two jpg's of something I just started.
I think Grab 2 says it better.
No matter how much I play around with the opacity or the fill I'm not able to clean up the jagged white surround on the heart.
I've looked at BMP's done by other skinners and it seems they have it licked,Cannon in particular.Perhaps I'm being too picky. It bothers me.
Serval, as you can see I read your tutorial on the numbering.I never knew how to do it before then.My thanks.

I do those kind of things with vectors, at least to begin with then paint in the colors. The white border would have been anti-aliased from the beginning ...
