    Weathering

    OK here goes, i have been working on a replacement paintkit for a SeaKing this is what i have so far :


    Any Ideas how to weather that up a bit? general flying dirt i mean. any tips would be handy,

    First I apply the paintscheme so you can really see how the weathering works on the paintscheme. How it works out really depends on the colors used.

    Then I look for images like these:

    If you follow those 2 links I posted you'll know how
    Basically I added a layer with noise that approximates scuffs and wear to the paint surface and another layer that looks like fuzzy dirt smudges. Also I used your detail to make a fuzzy dirt application around the panels and rivets.
    It will look MUCH better and be a whole lot easier to do with a layer file and you'll have more control over how it looks
