    Re: Me 410 profile

Looking nice. On my monitor the blacks look a little too black. The swastika, the codes, the barbette gun and its slot and the exhaust openings on the engines. Maybe the prop too. The white also looks a little stark. It could be the contrast settings of my computer.

What I do when I'm not sure is to use the brightness slider to look at the options. Offers great fine tuning in the grey scale.

HEY! Good point, unless they are part of individual markings the prop blades should be black green RLM 70, but they do look black. The black and white markings are stark but this does look like a neat graphic representation rather than a full on photo racialistic depiction.
I think it depends more on the stylistic approach that Pkassak is going for.
I think I'd like to more definition of the shapes but really it looks fine as it is

I am not complaining, just asking, teach me: what is wrong with black and white colors? As I see it, they are "absolute" colors, what is black, that is black, completly dark. The white should be opposite. There is no such thing as light black I believe, that is only some dark grey. Or..?

You said it: there is only complete, dark black. The kind which (almost) doesn't exist in nature. Same goes for white. If it's dark white or light black, then it's...grey.

I think it's better to choose a dark grey (or a very light one for white), and to avoid total black/white. It's especially true in the case of white (for profiles) as it's usually the background colour. If you paint stuff pure white, it will look as a hole in the airplane.

Nice! It's a good idea to show the forward fuselage as well.

    Re: Me 410 profile

Black is absolute when talking in the terms of the color spectrum. In life and paint, it is a very dark shade of something else. If you look at an all black plane, it isn't a formless mass. It has the same shape as a blue plane with the same highlights and shadows. The closest you will get to absolute black is deep in the shadows under a black wing.

As for pure white, sunlight itself has a hue. Look at the number of different shades of white you see on cars in a car park. Brilliant white has usually got a tinge of blue, the richer whites a yellow or red. They all look like white until you place them side by side. I'd expect that the white used on German markings in WW2 was a long way from a pure white, simply because of technical problems in making such a paint. It's whiteness was simply due to the contrast with the colours around it. It would be much less bright than the typical whites seen on a modern day airliner, for instance. Wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to the "white" Air India used for years - a sort of cream.
