    Re: Fouga Magister

The difference with the Irish Magister is the bottle of whisky on top of the flight console....and here all of you thought I was dumb!

    Re: Fouga Magister

Is there a reason the front half is so light??
Yes. This particular a/c was painted in a light grey colour from the engine intake to the front. The rear is dirty NMF.

@Supah: it was an operational a/c. The French Fougas often looked worn-out. Possibly the fact that they stand so low on the ground didn't help. It's said to be the only a/c which you have to get down to enter.

A little more work on the Magister:

Blue livery, from 1971 to 1980 when they traded their Magister for the Alphajet.

Now that JGrigolo has helped me with pictures of the Smoke Squadron Magister, I guess I really should do that one as well.

    Re: Fouga Magister

Thanks a lot JGrigolo. Unfortunately, with the extra work I just received, that will have to wait a bit.

    Re: Fouga Magister

Shame it's such an ugly looking aircraft in my opinion, despite that the artwork looks great.

    GM,

Isn't JGrigolo's photo interesting since it shows a curved tail shadow on the aft fuselage--we know they exist, don't we??
